Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

Total number spam/malicious emails blocked by your organisation over the last 2 calendar years (2019 and 2018) broken down by year.

Please could you also provide a category for the malicious emails e.g. 2,300 phishing emails, 5,000 spam/junk emails, 3,400 anti-virus blocks.

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the IC&T Department of Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is held, in part, by Northumbria Police.  To note this information is only available for the calendar year 2019 as we do not hold this information for 2018.
