We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Safeguarding Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.
The Complex Abuse Department (previously Operation Sanctuary) currently deals with Child sexual abuse, modern day slavery and trafficking.
Northumbria Police also chair the Missing Sexual Exploitation, Trafficked (MSET) meeting. This group meets once a month to discuss individual cases of young people. It is an open partnership referral system to allow partners to refer young people in. The group then develops an action plan as a multi-agency response to mitigate risk (this includes criminal exploitation as well as sexual exploitation).
