Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
You asked:
Could I please be provided with the number of people attending each first team football match at Newcastle United FC's St James' Park Stadium and Sunderland FC's Stadium of Light from August 2016 to the present day.
This should be the figure supplied to you by the football clubs from their stadium access records and not the published attendance figure (which is based on tickets sold and issued).
In Response:
We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Operations Unit of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is not held by Northumbria Police. We are not supplied with any figures from stadium access records. Any figures held by Northumbria Police are the same as those officially published by the football clubs. We do not hold the figures of people actually entering the turn styles.
