Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

During each of the past five financial years (2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20):

  1. How many section 60 'stop and search' orders have been put in place in your force area?
  2. How many searches under section 60 orders have carried out in your force area?

Please list each search with details of the ethnicity and gender of the suspect, and the outcome of the search, (including details of what was found if possible.)

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted within Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.

We can advise that we have had 1 Section 60 in the specified time period, which was in 2015/16. Please note that this was a negative search and no further action was taken.
