Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
For each of the following years, please tell me the total number of donations / gifts, sponsorship / hospitality / received by the police force, and the total monetary value of those donations:
2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19.
Please break the data down by financial year (April 1 - March 31). For example, your response might be: "In the financial year 2015-16, we received 83 donations worth £23,000."
Please also provide a list of any donations, gift, sponsorship, hospitality or loans received by the police force that had an individual value greater than £1,000.
For each of the entries where the value of the sponsorship was greater than £1,000, please tell me the date it was received; what the gift / hospitality was; the name of the individual or company that provided it and the total value of the gift / hospitality. If available, please also tell me the name and job role of the person that received the gift / hospitality.
We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.
As the information you have requested is accessible by other means I have not provided you with a copy of the information and will rely on Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. You should therefore consider this a refusal for those parts your request.
I have provided an explanation to this exemption below.
Section 21 (1) - Information accessible by other means
Information which is reasonably accessible to the applicant is exempt information.
This information has been asked for previously, released and is published on the Northumbria Police Disclosure Log. FOI 561/19 refers.
Additionally we also proactively publish a register of gifts and gratuities received, which you may find of interest.
