Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

1. How many seats do you have in total in your control room?

a. How many of them are for call taking, dispatching and switching tasks?

2. What is the brand of the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) software used in your control rooms?

a. How many seats are dedicated for it?

b. When it was installed?

c. What is the cost of the CAD system, cost of integration and installation, and cost of maintenance and support?

3. What is the brand of the Evidential Voice Recording system for radio and telephony?

a. How many replay stations are available for it?

b. When it was installed?

c. What is the cost of the Evidential Voice Recording system, cost of integration and installation, and cost of maintenance and support?

4. What is the brand of the Telephony system for emergency and non-emergency calls from the public?

a. How many call taking positions are available?

5. What is the brand of the Voice dispatch system for radio communications with operational units?

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted within Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.

NP has 2 sites:-

NPICCS – in-house developed operational platform

c. The NPICCS system is a fully in-house developed system of which the CAD system is only a small portion. As such that are no costs.

a. 51 dedicated, however as at question 1a, the dispatch consoles are dual purpose and can be utilised for call taking should the need arise.

c. The telephony system was originally installed in 1990/1991, since then it has been upgraded many times and it is in the process of undertaking a technology refresh. Therefore in the time available it would be impossible to provide accurate costs.
