Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

1. How many of your police vehicles are equipped with defibrillators that can deliver a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest.?

2. How many of your police stations or police vehicles are equipped with Automatic Chest Compressions Systems?

 

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Operations and Custody departments and Area Commands of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.

1. 23

2. No information held as there are no Automatic Chest Compression Systems in use by Northumbria Police either in vehicles or buildings. However, Northumbria Police do have defibrillators in some custody suites and stations.
