Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

  1. Can you please give a list of the places do the Northumbria Police Vehicles go after Decommissioned or being auction?
  2. Can you please give a list of Car Dealerships that you purchase Vehicles from 1990-present to convert them into Northumbria Police Vehicles?

In Response:

  1. Disposal of fleet vehicles are by two routes depending on condition.  They are either sent for salvage or to Auction.  We hold no information at to the places they go after being auctioned.
  2. As per our previous response, records are not retained that far back as there is no requirement to do so.  I can advise that currently vehicles are purchased through national frameworks direct from manufacturer.
