Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

How many adults from the age of 18 please, were reported missing to your Police force in 2017?  2. Can you provide a breakdown of their age and gender?

3. How many of the adults in Q1, if any, were reported to have gone missing abroad?

4. How many missing adults were reported as found in 2017?

5. How many of the adults reported missing to your Police force in 2017 had a mental health illness/flag attached to their record?

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention. 

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

3. No information held.  We cannot answer this question as the missing person would be investigated in the location where they went missing.

If it were reported to this Force then the location missing from would be documented as their home address.

5. 873.  To note – this figures is as held and depends on the officer documenting that the missing person has mental health issues on the missing person report.  For those reasons we cannot verify figures as  accurate and they should not be seen as such.
