Date Responded 30 July 2020

Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

I request the number and details (mo) of reports that involve things that could be classed as paranormal such as non human entities.

I would appreciate all years on record, but 1975-2000 will suffice.

I would like the data for the area within a 20 mile radius of Blanchland that falls within your jurisdiction.

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is not held by Northumbria Police.

We are unable to conduct searches for the dates specified in your request.  Also we do not hold set keywords for paranormal activity.

However, if you could supply a list of keywords (for paranormal activity) that you would like us to conduct our searches on, we may be able to search the first 5 lines of the incident description for those key words only.  Please note that we would only be able to conduct our searches from the 2005/06 financial year – therefore if you could specify a search period from then we may be able to extract the data requested.

If this would be useful, you may wish to refine and resubmit your request accordingly.
