Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

1. I request disclosure of the numbers of Police Community Support Officer(s), hereafter referred to as PCSO, who have been injured on duty within the force during the time period 1st April 2015 to 30th September 2017.This should be sourced from the appropriate Injury on Duty form(s) used in Force.

 2. The data required for each instance is as follows:

Date, type of incident, injury sustained, and outcome.

In Response:

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Human Resources Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held in part  by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.

The Data provided has been exported from the Accident Recording Database.  It’s not clear what is meant by ‘outcome’ however this database does not have the functionality to record an ‘outcome’ in any case so we have provided information relating to your request that is actually held.,  ( this includes if hospital treatment was required.)

To note,  38 PCSOs were injured during the time period specified, however they may have been injured on more than one occasion, hence the difference in the number of injuries.
