Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

I wish to know the number of registered sex offenders within your force area for the years 2017 to present.

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Safeguarding Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.

The data below relates to the actual number of Registered Sex Offenders, residing in communities within the Northumbria Police Force area, recorded on the last statistical recording period of the year, which is the last week in December.

2018 – 1610
2019 – 1652
2020 – 1765
2021 – 1832
2022 – 1890 – data up to 29 March
