Date Responded 29 November 2019

Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

Please can you tell me how many drivers have been caught exceeding the speed limit within the average speed cameras, which have been set up on the A19 around the Testo's and Downhill Lane upgrade works?

From those figures, please can you tell me:

*How many were caught month by month

*Which direction they were travelling in?

If it is not possible to narrow down these figures into a monthly time period or direction, because it would go beyond the time limit set out under the act, I would be grateful if you could simply respond which how may have been caught in total since they were activated.

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Fixed Penalty Department of Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
