What matters to you
17 Oct | 15:56

At a time when our police force is having to find news ways to do more with less, we're still focused on what matters to you. And we know that one of the things that matters most to you is anti-social behaviour.

To crack down on it, our cops are coming up with new ideas all the time. From going out on patrol side by side with a school's headteacher or getting young people off the street and involved in the territorial army to all-new DNA spray to detect illegal motorcyclists.

Watch our videos below and follow #whatmatterstoyou to see how our teams are tackling local problems that matter to local people.

What Matters To You - Anti Social Behaviour in South Shields
Meet Keith. Most days he heads to his local park in South Shields to walk his dog Murphy. Keith's noticed an increase in anti-social off road bikers and has called us to report his concerns. So we're trying out a new DNA spray that can 'tag' offenders and link them to unsolved crimes. Even though we're trying to do more with less, what matters to you, still matters to us.
What Matters To You - Tackling Anti Social Behaviour in Gateshead
Roy suffered from anti-social behaviour around his home and it had a big impact upon his family. Thanks to the efforts of cops in Gateshead, he's been able to enjoy his summer in his garden without concern.
What Matters To You - Anti Social Behaviour in Cullercoats
This is Simon. He owns a local business in Cullercoats. Earlier this year, Simon called for more to be done about anti-social behaviour that was happening in the area. He headed out with PC Graeme Harbittle who showed him the actions we took over the summer to crack down on ASB. Even though we're trying to do more with less, what matters to you, still matters to us.
