Operation Disband has been launched to tackle anti-social behaviour in Northumberland
20 Feb | 15:32

Our officers in Cramlington are working alongside partners and the local authority in response to community concerns surrounding anti-social behaviour (ASB) in the town centre.

As part of the operation officers will be conducting increased police patrols in the area and will be acting on local intelligence to disrupt disorder and target key suspects.

The operation has been running since January and will continue the initial phase until March, with the initiative looking to ensure that Cramlington remains a safe and friendly place to live, work and visit for all.

Northumbria Police’s Sgt Steve Nicklin, one the leading officers on the operation, said: “Our officers and staff from the local council have heard the concerns from the public and have developed a targeted response to the issue.

“We understand the significant impact ASB can have on local residents and businesses and we want to reassure the public that we are proactively working with partners and have a swift and robust approach to this type of disorder.

“I urge anyone with any concerns to contact officers so we can effectively monitor the issue and efficiently deploy the necessary resources to tackle the issue.”

The public can report criminal or anti-social behaviour confidentially to the Police via 101 or on their website.
